So here's Tuesday's "thing":  we're (the Tech Committee) swapping our school website to Google, and I want to bring the teachers on board.  As we were looking at the website last year, there was 2-3 year old info on it, which is just ludicrous. So for those of you who have made the switch, did you
1) ease into it, a few teachers at a time?
2) just rip off that bandaid and have the principal make them do it?

  1. How can you help (role model)teachers to come on board as they see the benefits. Top down often fails. As we have discussed many time this week - collaboration is key. If teachers can visualize the benefits to learning, improved communication with parents, and ease of their own preparation than it becomes a must. I believe early access to professional development is key to coming on board with a new program.

  2. I agree, Prof Dev is key. If we could show the reluctant teachers, for example, how google docs could make their endless paperwork easier with minimal set-up time, I think they would put in the time necessary to get it done.
